Its a full time job to be a good dad

You got so much more stuff than I had.  I gotta study just to keep with the changin times, 101 dalmations on your cd rom, See me I'm.. Tryin to pretend I know, On my pc where that cd go. 

Did I just break out into a Will Smith song?  Yea that just happened.  It happened because this is my first official blog after finding out Elizabeth and I are going to have a kid!   The due date is October 3rd, a day before my birthday.  I haven't made a CD mix yet for the drive home from the hospital but I sure am looking forward to it.  

We had the 12 week appointment today at the baby clinic, which didn't end up being much of anything.  I helped fill out a questionaire while Elizabeth got weighed and had a few other checks done.  We did get to hear the baby's heartbeat for a few seconds which was pretty surreal.  Since I'm not the one carrying the baby (no I'm not showing!) it really hasn't set in yet what's in store for us.    We're both excited and reading as much as we can about what to expect but I have a feeling reading isn't going to fully prepare me for what's on the way..  Stay tuned.
